IMI 9mm Magazines

IMI subcontracted their magazines through a variety of the manufactures. Most of them have one or both of the following tool marks:

Star marked identities them as military issue.
"IMI" marked identifies them as commercial issue.

Magazines with both tool marks were originally made for military use and where later restamped for commercial use. Some magazines that have no markings at all were also manufactured by IMI subcontractors.

20 Round Commercial

Caliber: 9mm
Manufacturer: IMI subcontractor
Capacity: 20
Witness Holes: 10,15,20
Construction: medium gauge metal, no seam in back, flat seam in front.
Tool Marks: none
Finish: Smooth black
Reliability: Excellent
Comments: These magazines shipped with the UZI Pistol in the United States. They are an excellent magazine to use during concealed carry.

25 Round Military Issue

Caliber: 9mm
Manufacturer: IMI Subcontractor
Capacity: 25
Witness Holes: 10,15,20,25
Construction: Heavy gauge metal, folded seam in back, no seam in front.
Tool Marks: Star on lower side, number on lower front
Finish: Smooth gray or green parkerized.
Reliability: Excellent. This is probably the best magazine you can buy if you take into account reliability, longevity and price.

25 Round Converted to Commercial Issue

Caliber: 9mm
Manufacturer: IMI subcontractor
Capacity: 25
Witness Holes: 10, 15, 20, 25
Construction: Heavy gauge metal, folded seam in back, no seam in front.
Tool Marks: "IMI" and a number on lower front, star on lower side
Finish: Smooth black enameled finish
Reliability: Excellent
Comments: Apparently these were military issue magazines that were converted to commercial issue by adding the "IMI" stamp to them and applying a painted finish.

25 Round Unmarked

Caliber: 9mm
Manufacturer: Probably IMI subcontractor
Capacity: 25
Witness Holes: 10, 20, 25 - on the back of the mag
Construction: Heavy gauge metal, folded seam in back, no seam in front.
Tool Marks: none
Finish: Smooth, dark parkerized finish
Reliability: Very good.
Comments: Construction is pretty much identical to a military issue IMI mag except witness holes are on the back instead of the side.

25 Round Unmarked

Manufacturer: Probably IMI subcontractor
Capacity: 25
Witness Holes: 10, 15, 20, 25
Construction: Heavy gauge metal, folded seam in back, no seam in front.
Tool Marks: none
Finish: Smooth, dark parkerized finish
Reliability: Untested.
Comments: Construction is very similar to a military issue IMI magazines but no tool mark.

32 Round Military Issue

Caliber: 9mm
Manufacturer: IMI subcontractor
Capacity: 32
Witness Holes: 10, 20, 32
Construction: Heavy gauge metal, no seam in back, flat seam in front.
Tool Marks: Star on lower side of mag
Finish: Parkerized
Reliability: Excellent
Comments: Probably made for Israeli special forces for use in the Mini UZI or Micro UZI.

32 Round Commercial Issue
